Rose Quartz was the colour of 2016. Officially, as in the Pantone Colour of the year, and in so many other realms-- cookware (yes I want the whole Le Creuset line), beauty packaging (Glossier), and most definitely in fashion. If you know me at all you know this blush tone is my favourite colour. My closet is overflowing with blouses, pants, skirts (pretty much anything I can get my hands on) in this shade of pink. Has it become an obsession? Yes. Is it a problem? Absolutely not! (right, Brandon?)
What I love about it is, yes it can make you feel extremely feminine and girly, but when paired with the right pieces you can create a look that screams the total opposite-- cool, collective and downtown chic.
I paired some moody, darker accessories with my best-loved colour for a day in the city and am loving how edgier the outfit looks. A pair of black booties, distressed denim, a faux fur stole, and a structured bag is all it takes to completely change it up.
Rose Quartz is most definitely still on the rise for 2017. Which makes the new purchase of this coat totally acceptable! Hey-- when Club Monaco has an in-store 50% off sale you take full advantage! I know we'll be seeing more and more of it with springs arrival, and it makes me as happy as can be! I'm on the hunt for some blush sneakers next!
What's your take on the colour? Have you thought about changing up the feel of it with darker pieces to really create that feminine edge? Let's discuss...
