September Make Up Musts

Best of Fall Make up 2018- Ablaze Cheek Palette, it Cosmetics Superhero Mascara and Liner, Dermablend 2-1 power setter spray, gabpacifico beauty pics, top make up for fall

September has been serious for beauty launches. I discovered a new eyeliner and mascara combo that packs a serious statement, I discovered a make setting spray that gives me a fresh face all day and a new bronzer/highlight palette that I simply cannot get enough of (shimmer, without the sparkle). Are you intrigued? Here's what I've been loving lately and what YOU need to add to your make up arsenal for fall:

Gab Pacifico, Pastels and Pastries Beauty, September Make up, Best of Fall Make up 2018- Ablaze Cheek Palette, it Cosmetics Superhero Mascara and Liner, Dermablend 2-1 power setter spray

Dermablend Power-Setter 2-in-1 Makeup Setting Spray
It's oil-free and lightweight. It instantly sets eye shadow, foundation, and cheek makeup to a T. Seriously, it lasts all day and does not leave me shiny at all! You're supposed to spray it over your face in an "x" and "t" motion, which I totally do. Not sure how this helps, but I'm totally game for techniques! I don't generally love setting powders, and I've always been a spray girl so when I ran out of my beloved Pixi setting spray I thought I'd give this a go! If you're finding after lunch your face seems oily, greasy or your makeup has rubbed off, you need to get on the spray train.

IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara and Liner
It takes me a lot to stray away from tried and true favourites. But again, I had finished my Bad Gal Bang mascara and thought what the heck, let's see how super this Superhero duo is. I love IT Cosmetics for their CC Cream and Secret Sauce but had yet to test out more of their makeup line... until now. First off-- the mascara. Need volume? Need length? Yeah. It does both! Like if you thought I was wearing falsies I wouldn't blame you. I find it doesn't make my eyes itch either by the end of the day which is always a bonus.  I do find that on my right eyelash I get a bit of build up. Not sure if I need to brush out my lashes more often, but regardless it amps them up. Now if you're looking for a versatile liner, here's your golden ticket. I like to go super thin with eyeliner and this one allows me to achieve the perfect swipe. Also, I can actually line my lash in one stroke, which is huge for a eyeliner noob like me!

SMASHBOX Ablaze Face Palette
I love the fiery shades that this palette packs for fall. Burnt orange, burgundy, gold... they are literally LIT.  The palette is limited edition and available at Shopper's Drug Mart, so don't miss your chance to snag it while it's hot. Think shimmery sunset, but no sparkle which I love! The bronzers are deep shades which I may not be able to get away with when my summer glow fades, but for now, they are perfection. They pretty much act as a contour for me. The highlighters and blushes are lovely and really enhance the glow. When your cheeks catch the light, you will not know what hit you! Add a bit down the bridge of your nose, and you'll literally look like angel.

Have any make-up musts for fall? Spill...

How to Dress Up a Jumpsuit for Fall

How to Dress Up a Jumpsuit for Fall , Forever 21 polka dot ginger jumpsuit, Gucci Belt black, vintage Chanel flap bag, black heel slides, pastels & pastries, gabpacifico fall style

Here we have a colour I never thought I'd wear. And now, I'm obsessed. Burnt orange? Ginger? Whatever it is... this jumpsuit sold me. So much so, that I had to do a full blog post on it. I love the peek-a-boo back, and the ruffled shoulders. Paired with chunky heels and a designer belt, I wore it to a Christening this weekend, however, I've already been seen wearing it more casually with a denim coat and slides. It's so versatile and to say the price fit the bill is an understatement. Jumpsuits are such great transitional pieces. In the summer they are light and airy, however, in the fall they can help make any outfit glam with a few additions. I took this jumpsuit from summer caj to fall glam in a few easy steps. Here's what I did:

1. Add a statement.
I knew before I even tried this jumpsuit on that I wanted to pair it with my Gucci belt. I love the way it accentuates the waist and elevates the suit. I even took it a step further and paired it with another statement piece, my Chanel bag. They both were investments and just prove that a $30 jumpsuit can look ultra luxe when paired with the right accessories. You don't need to go all designer here either, a chunky gold belt or a pair of drop earrings can do wonders.

2. Add some height.
Taking a jumpsuit from day to night, or casual to fancy can be done with the right shoes. Something that gives you a bit of lift will, without doubt, elevate the outfit. However, if heels aren't your thing you could add a pointy-toe flat to make the jumpsuit more fall appropriate.

3. Over the shoulder coverage.
The mornings have been quite chilly, so in order to stay warm yet still look fairly fancy, I added my leather coat on top of this jumpsuit. Leather coats really up the edge factor on any outfit instantly and I was feeling the glam! It was the perfect piece to tie in the accessories and throw over the shoulders for when it got chilly. Do without your basic cardigan and add a crop blazer or a collarless coat in the mix.

I found this jumpsuit at Forever 21 a few weeks ago and I can't seem to find the exact piece, but don't worry! I've linked a bunch of similar options below! What do you think of the glam jumpsuit look for fall? Would you rock it?

5 Tips for a Successful Move

How to Plan a Home Move, Gold accents white kitchen, marble white kitchen, blogger home tour, pastels and pastries, gabpacifico home decor,

If you've been following along on Instagram you'll know that Brandon and I recently purchased a new home and have been preparing it for our big move. The house was definitely move-in ready but we had a few ideas in mind to make it more us. You know... we wanted to inject some of our personalities into the space, so we gave ourselves the rest of the summer to get to work. Well, it's officially September and we are ready to move in! Kinda? Almost?  My goodness has the last few months been intense. So much back and forth between the new place, and so much blood, sweat, and tears have gone into it. And yes, I'm serious when I say blood. If you're wondering, yes, my broken foot is finally healing and yes, being off heavy lifting duty has definitely slowed us down.

However, this week we are doing the last push!  I am soooo excited to just be there. I even slept there last night and it was so exciting! We've tiled the kitchen, scraped the ceilings, and are finally getting the last coat of paint on the house this week. This is our first official move together. When we moved in together the first time, we really accumulated as we went, so this time around there was packing to be done, painters to be scheduled and decisions to be made.

Here are 5 things I've learned so far:

1. Pack in stages.
Don't try to do it all in one day. It's overwhelming! Schedule your time accordingly. A few hours here to go through the closet, a few hours here to tackle the living room shelves. It makes it so much easier when you know you can take your time. There were a few moments where I just gave up because it was too overwhelming. Taking breaks helps! But don't give yourself too much time, because then you will end up putting it off for too long. Stick to a schedule!

2. Take this time to declutter and purge.
We went through our closets, cupboards, and drawers. We said goodbye to old junky things, partially ripped clothes and the cracked/mismatched dishes. No one needs a set of 3 odd glasses. It was the perfect opportunity to give away a lot of things. Which also feels amazing. Since we are also downsizing it is important for us to get rid of the unnecessary things we have accumulated. Not to mention, it feels nice to have less stuff! As for the closet, I've gone through it twice. The first time around I was holding on to too much. I made myself have another go at it and I became ruthless! If I haven't worn you all summer, BYE.

3. Budget more than you think you'll need.
Are you doing minor renovations? There are so many little, hidden costs that tend to arise. For example, we wanted to change out the kitchen cabinets. Knowing this would be a huge expense, we opted to paint them instead. We still hired someone to do this for us, but little costs were adding up! To cut costs we removed the doors ourselves and put them back on (yes, it helps when you have a handy family to help). We also didn't take into account just how expensive things are, like the painting! Did you know they charge by the square foot?! It really does add up! Giving yourself a little more to get the things done is totally worth it if you can.

4. Take burn out into account.
We thought we could do it all ourselves. Especially the painting. It seems easy enough, right? Nope. Boy was I wrong. It's time consuming, exhausting and can be extremely difficult to get those hard to reach areas like above the stairs and behind the appliances! Recognizing that we could not do everything ourselves was important and necessary. Since B and I are both working full-time jobs and trying to finish the house, we could only be there on weekends and evenings. It becomes another job, which adds another layer of stress, which in turn causes tension. When we realized things were getting tense we hired people where we could just to speed up the process and to remain sain.

5. Remember that not everything has to be perfect.
This is a hard one for me to swallow sometimes. I want it all done, and by the time we move in. We had to come to terms with the fact that some things are not a priority and that some things can be done once we move in. I know most people say, do it before or else you'll never do it. And while I can't say this will be true for us or not, but I've had to put things on hold. The most important thing is that we get into the house. We're focusing on that and the rest will come as it should.

Now that we have officially rented a truck for tomorrow do you have any tips for me?! I'd love to hear how your moves have gone! Smooth? Scary? Anything else I can expect?

Collagen Chia Pudding - 2 Ways

Beauty Boosting Collagen Chia Breakfast with Vital Proteins Matcha Strawberry Lemon Collagen

I've gotten my mom hooked on energy bites, my dad hooked on banana date cookies, and I'm about to get you hooked on something else. It's pretty next level. We've all heard of OOs-- overnight oats. Am I right? And they're old news. I got a new trick up my sleeve and it's a breakfast that will fill you up long time, work on your beauty routine and even give you a boost of energy without the crash. Did I mention it will really GET THINGS moving (if you know what I mean)? Collagen chia pudding. Guys, it's my new thing, and I can't stop eating it. I think this is like my 13th day in a row of having it for breakfast. What can I say? When I like something, I really like something!
Beauty Boosting Collagen Chia Breakfast with Vital Proteins Matcha Strawberry Lemon Collagen
So what is it? It's essential chia pudding but mixed with a few amazing additions. Chia seeds are packed with amazing nutrients. Omega 3's, fiber, protein, and they expand in your tummy, keeping you full longer.  I love Vital Proteins collagen (I did a whole post on it, here), so when they recently came out with their on-the-go packs of Beauty Collagen and Matcha Collagen, my mind immediately went into creative drive, concocting all the things I could do with them. I've revamped my Matcha bars into bites with them, and have made some delish strawberry beauty balls.

Pastels and Pastries, gab Pacifico, breakfast, healthy, vegan, chia pudding, matcha chia, vital proteins

But back to the chia. This recipe is SO insanely easy to whip together. I make a big batch on a Sunday and separate them into jars for the week. It's so filling, just lightly sweetened with yacon syrup, and you can customize it to your liking. To hone in on the antioxidizing, detoxifying, energy boosting, skin/hair/nails improving benefits you will need collagen. But it's worth the investment. Let me break down the basic recipe then I will share how I customize each one.
Pastels and Pastries, gab Pacifico, breakfast, healthy, vegan, chia pudding, matcha chia, vital proteins, beauty boosting collage chia pudding

Chia Pudding:
4 tablespoons chia seeds
1/2 cup almond milk
2 spoonfuls Yoso coconut yogurt (optional-- I like it because it makes the texture more creamy)
1 tsp Organic Traditions yacon syrup (if you don't have, maple syrup will do, Yacon Syrup is just less sweet, and contains prebiotics)

Ingredients:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a jar and put the lid on and shake
2. Make sure all chia seeds are incorporated and not stuck to the side of jar
3. Separate into two jars (or more, depending on how big you want your serving sizes to be)

Collagen Additions:
4. Add in 1 packet of Matcha Collagen to one jar (I add some coconut flakes on the top)
5. Add in 1 packet of Strawberry Beauty Collagen to the other jar (I add a dab of lemon juice and lemon zest, along with some frozen berries)

Why Strawberry Collagen? It's packed with hyaluronic acid, improves digestion, sleep, and hydrates your skin.
Why Matcha Collagen? A calm and focusing energy-boost without the crash! Again the 10 g of collagen in each pack ensures your getting skin, nail, and hair benefits, too.

There you have it. Your new breakfast, snack, on-the-go beauty boost. Let me know if you try it!
