I love that fall allows for the pairing of midi skirts and bulky sweaters. This Sunday may have been gloomy and rainy, but that didn’t stop me from sporting one of my favourite colour combinations— pink-on-pink. I love playing with different shades like salmon and blush, and seeing how the unexpected can really come together. Not to mention just the mere sight of the colours can brighten my mood! I picked up both these pieces at Topshop and instantly fell in love. Also, satin and knit? Another unlikely combo that totally works! I love that the skirt has sort of a glam, electric feel, but can totally work in a rustic, casual way with the turtleneck. I paired the pink-on-pink with black booties and my favourite charcoal Sophie Hulme bag. I love how pink contrasts with charcoal grey and black. It adds some glamour and rigidness to what would have otherwise been a total feminine, delicate look paired with say heels and a clutch. Also, adding in some different textures and a bit of structure can completely change the look of an outfit depending on where you're headed.
Building on the outfit with a pair of black booties delivered the perfect, casual brunch outfit. Which is exactly where this outfit took me… Ufficio to be exact! I got together with some of the lovely ladies (La Petite Noob, Bijuleni, Something About That, Wishbone and Clover) for delicious food, great and relatable conversation this weekend in the most gorgeous space. I love when restaurants are accommodating and I couldn’t say more good things about Ufficio. Check them out if you get a chance!
What's your take on mixing the unexpected together? Pink on pink? Satin and knit? Would you do it? Let me know!

Love this look! I've never really been drawn to pink until very recently and it's slowly making its way into my wardrobe and accessories. I'm liking having a new-to-me colour around! You can bet I'll be looking to you for inspiration even more now. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad, Lesley! You will not find a shortage of pink-spiration around here!
